For over 700 years, the release of floating lanterns has been part of the rich cultural fabric of Lanna people of northern Thailand. To them, floating lanterns serve as offerings to the Lord Buddha. The offering is believed to bring good luck while the release of lanterns symbolizes the letting go of all that we wish to be freed from.
This festival will take place before the full moon night and Loy Krathong festival..
